As the year draws to an end I’ve been thinking over the many activities over the past year. New experiences, great moments, a few lesser moments and oh so many photos.
It was high time for a vacation and having visited the bigger cities the last few years for my vacations and Barcelona being a second home of some sorts by now, both M. and I wanted to go somewhere that really felt like a vacation. Away from the busy city life that Barcelona and Assen (ahum) are and find beautiful places to visit.
I love my Canon gear, I really do! But there are time I envy those with a compact camera, or with a DSLR with a 18-200mm all-in-one lens. When they go on holiday the choice in camera(s) is pretty clear: they take what they have. Simple as that and no reason to second guess your choice.
I’m fully aware that I have a bit of a camera fetish. I have way more camera’s then I’ll ever need, but hey… it’s just so much fun :) The ultimate camera I’d like to get would be a rangefinder camera. To be precise a Leica, but as that’s way over my budget, that will have to wait for a while. Fuji presented a novel idea on last years Photokina photography trade fair: the X100, a vintage styled compact camera with a hybrid viewfinder. I wanted it the moment I saw it.
