The Profronde Surhuisterveen 2018
Last year I missed the post-Tour de France criteriums, but this year I at least made it to the race in Surhuisterveen. Only two days after the Tour de France. The first race is traditionally held in Boxmeer, but Surhuisterveen is really close by and… as the only racing crit after the Tour this one was attended by Geraint Thomas, accompanied by Tom Dumoulin, Baule Mollema, Laurens ten Dam and Ramon Sinkeldam. A pretty damn impressive list of cyclists.

Happy New Year ride
To start of the year well I had my first ride on the Bianchi on January first. Here’s to a new year with (hopefully) many more rides and lots of photos of the rounds, wherever I make them :)

It was a mere 63km with a bit of rain, a tiny amount of sun and loads of glass on the cycling paths from smashed (beer)bottles. A mere miracle I made it home without any flats along the way. My personal condition at the moment is nothing to be proud about, but I’ll get to work on that now the holidays are over!
Barcelona – July 2017
This is the first of two belated post of my travels to Barcelona this year. In all the traveling and other things I forgot to post these, even though the travels were really good. In July I traveled to Barcelona not with just my regular additional luggage, but with an extra big case as well for a really interesting trip.
A day out in the Baloise Belgium Tour
Back in March I responded to a tweet to post a photo of yourself in shorts. We had some great sunny days in March and I responded to the tweet with a photo (as you do ;) ). I hadn’t really thought about if afterwards until suddenly in April I got a message asking if I’d like to join the Team Roompot crew for a day as VIP during the Belgium Tour. Had to think about it for a few seconds (it’s a bit of a drive from the North of the Netherlands) but it’s a superb opportunity and Belgium is a different setting. That makes it really interesting too!
Bianchi and windmills
My girlfriend loves windmills and so whenever I run into one, I try to get a shot of my bike and a windmill in my rides. As it was National Windmill Day in the Netherlands last Sunday they’re all looking at their best now :)

Lots of photos of my rides in 2017 over here.

The album Cycling 2017 will be udated through the year with photos from my rides (and occasionally some gear-updates).
