We visited the Forum in Groningen today. It’s been the subject of a lot of talk since the moment it was being built. A hideous, way to expensive building in the center of Groningen. And for what use?
Personally I think it’s an incredible building. It’s grand, looks amazing and the view on the roof is fantastic. It’s a bit surreal on the inside with all the escalators, but it does give it a bit of a magical feeling. As far as I’m concerned it’s absolutely OK. Will definitely come back when it’s warmer and a bit less crowded. Possibly there will be some photos of the building itself too then :)
Here are a few photos, click any of them to see a few more
It has been years since I visited the zoo in Emmen and haven’t been there at all since in changed to the ‘Wildlands’ zoo experience it now is, so as Monica had visited the zoo several times now, this was a great time for her to guide me through the zoo.
Every year in the latest month the World Press Photo exhibition comes to the Netherlands and whenever it’s possible I try to visit it. They moved from the Der Aa Kerk to the Synagog in Groningen, both locations have impressive architecture.
I visited the TT Festival last night. In a lead up to the trainings and races of the Dutch MotoGP on the TT Circuit of Assen the TT Festival offers lots of fun and activities from Wednesday until Saturday. Musically it’s a bit of a sad affair these days, but luckily there’s lots and lots of other things to do, beginning with a funfair!
