On March 16 Monica and I visited the next concert: the presentation of Angela Furquet’s album De Sol a Son at Soda Acustic.
The album, and Angela’s music has a latin-American heart in folk music, with elements of Jass and hailing from the Basque country if I understood it all correctly.
In any case Angela Furquet is sharing the stage with a piano player who also is a backup vocalist and there’s a cuban cello player whose smile alone brightens the Soda room. His enthusiasm is positively contagious.
It’s a great concert that makes you want to move, but then that is at the core of Latin music. It was a really, really nice concert! She invited a friend on stage for a song and the combination sounded really good too. It’s a shame I don’t understand the Spanis language enough yet to follow the lyrics, but maybe someday…
