Man From The South and We Were Evergreen at In De Kringloop

By posting a photo of a record of Still Corners on Instagram a little while ago I got into a conversation with Patrik Kuiper of InDeKringloop and one thing led to another and before I knew it I got permission to photograph at the Let’s Get Lost festival in Zwolle with the request to also come and take some photos at the InDeKringloop sessions that afternoon. Seemed a fun thing to do so sure. Gladly!

Unfortunately parking ones car in the center of Zwolle on a Saturday afternoon is close to impossible and I lost more than half an hour sorting that out and finding the Langhuis building where the InDeKringloop sessions were recorded and arrived just as the first band (Deep Sea Diver) was leaving. Darn! Oh Well, I’d get another chance at the festival.

As the InDeKringloop people were preparing the room for Man From The South (Paul van Hulten, from the Netherlands), I checked out the room, without stagelight photos look a bit different and I also wanted to make sure not to interfere in the InDeKringloop filming activities.

The session was a short one, about three songs. Good enough to get an impression of the singer/songwriter songs, but too short to really get into the ‘photographer-mode’.

A short reset later and Parisian band We Were Evergreen played their acoustic InDeKringloop set. Really loved this band. After the session they played a few more songs. Sounded like a really fun band.

I had a really good time, the Langhuis is a superb location (albeit a bit cold at the time) and I’d love to do some more InDeKringloop sessions if I ever get the chance. Also check out the site for more sessions!
