Plato Planet 2011 2/2
Plato Planet 2011 was far from over as there were still three acts to see. So after the set by the Pioneers of Love I headed back to the “Kleine zaal” that was already getting crowded in the front rows.
And with good reason as Eefje de Visser played a beautiful set in a small modest setup with only her and a keyboard player. And even in this small setting I really love the song Hartslag (heartbeat).
Back to the foyer then for Maurits Westerik and GEM. I’ve seen hem recently in a try out before the album presentation of ‘Hunters go Hungry’. That was a slightly bigger band than that he had with him now, but the songs still sounded great. Maurits has a fantastic voice and the half hour just flew by.
Back in the “Kleine zaal” Lefties Soul Connection, the last act of the evening also turned out to be the biggest surprise. The Funk & Soul band completely blew me away! The help of Michelle David on vocals was brilliant, they pushed the audience on and on. Fantastic set!
So all in all a great edition of Plato Planet. Now I only have to find a way to actually see Signe Tollefsen play sometime.
