Cross-Linx Groningen: Buke and Gass, Sharon van Etten 2/3

Leaving Owen Pallett in ‘De Kleine Zaal’ I walked to the foyer-stage where the duo of Buke and Gass was playing. I hadn’t heard of them before, but was very pleasantly surprised. They had a lovely bluesy, folky sound but with more power. Really need to find out more about them, with the three acts in the given time I had to work on photos first and listening later. Still: first impression was charming and very good

Moving on I went to the Binnenzaal where Sharon van Etten was performing with band. Unfortunately, due to the short sets I wasn’t able to really form an opinion of Sharon. When I entered and started shooting, Sharon was just finishing a song and splayed only one more before the gig was over

Sharon Van Etten stopte eerder, omdat ze ze last van haar stem had. Ik was erg onder de indruk, maar van wat ik van tevoren beluisterd had, verbaasde me dat niet. Buke and Gass vond ik net als jij een heel prettige verrassing. Plato had van hen gelukkig wel cd’s bij zich.
