Good times, bad times
I just noticed it’s been over a month since my last update on the website. In photography I have to admit nothing much has happened the last month. Concerts in my region have been at a standstill and I’ve invested my time in another hobby of mine: cycling. Bought a new racing bicycle and have been on that as much as possible for about 4 weeks now and it was bliss. So once the concerts start going again, at the very least I’ll be in good shape.
In about two weeks the Noorderzon festival in Groningen will start. A festival that combines theatre, dance, music, literature and film and is held from the 19th of august till the 29th. Unfortunately I’ll not be able to attend all evenings (there’s a daytime job that needs some attention too), but I’m currently looking into a schedule that will allow me to see the more interesting concerts. All in all it promises to be a great program and a fantastic start to the new season.
Yesterday also my Canon EF100-400mm lens was returned to me and now works just fine again. I might take it out for a spin this weekend at the Rizla Racing Day event at the TT Circuit, weather providing.
So far for the good times. Unfortunately one cannot go without some bad times too and I was gutted yesterday when my 15mm fisheye lens fell -with a loud CLUNK- on the street. Glass seems to be OK, but the electronics are no longer responding and manual focus doesn’t run smooth. So I’ll have to send that in for repair in the hope it will return quickly as I use the lens for concerts, panoramas and what not (however -seeing as my EF100-400 was gone for a month- I’m afraid this will take some time too).
Anyway, the season’s about to start again and I’ll be adding new blogposts soon

Heb je al een schema kunnen maken voor Noorderzon? Wij hebben vooralsnog maar één avond gepland, de openingsavond, voor Surfer Blood.
Ik heb aanvragen ingediend voor de concerten van Laura Veirs, Blaudzun, Health en Don Fiasko en verder moet ik zien waar ik tijd voor heb. Elke avond heen en weer naar Groningen gaat ‘m niet worden en vrij nemen in Augustus lukt ook niet, dus moet ik zien wat er allemaal haalbaar is. Surfer Blood staat ook op de wenslijst, net als Caribou, Vieux Farka, Meursault en Monotix. We zullen zien. Ook een beetje afhankelijk van ‘t weer
Wij zijn net terug van een indrukwekkend (en droog) concert van Local Natives op het Dok. Ik heb de indruk dat je er niet was. Mocht dat kloppen: wat een verschil met donderdag Surfer Blood. Geweldig!
Nee, idd niet geweest. Nog wel even aan gedacht, maar ik heb vanavond ook Health in de planning staan en kan niet overal bij zijn helaas. Dit zijn van die momenten dat ik er echt spijt van heb niet in Groningen te wonen, dan kon ik er gewoon even op de fiets naartoe
Eej Klaas, volgens mij heb jij meer dan genoeg pro-gear voor een Canon CPS Gold Service Membership. Handig voor korte repair times!
Nou ja, in Groningen wonen betekent nog altijd niet dat je er iedere avond kunt of wilt staan… Gelukkig ontdekte ik op tijd (zondag) dat Local Natives de moeite van het halen van een nat pak waard zijn. Maar, dit is het wat ons betreft voor deze editie ook hoor. Tenzij ze zondagavond iets waanzinnig goeds programmeren.
Ben ik nu ook, maar dat was op het moment dat ik de lens ter aarde liet storten nog niet rond helaas. Had dus al wel de lens kapot en niet de CPS registratie rond. Daarbij is het gebeuren rond CPS me nog niet helemaal duidelijk. Moet ik nog even uitzoeken.
Nee, da’s waar. Maar het is wel wat makkelijker. Ik heb nu een uur reistijd, benzinekosten en moet ook nog direct daarna foto’s uitwerken. En af en toe heb ik toch wel eens iets van ‘als ik nou ‘s gewoon in Groningen woonde…’. Komt misschien nog wel een keer.
